The Lounge / So I decided to mess with my father in law tonight.
« on: May 22, 2014, 07:29:22 PM »
My Father in law is an old school ex-cop kind of guy. He's the kind the hates gay marriage, mixed marriages, welfare programs...well you get the idea. He's also a diehard Red Sox fan and I a NY Yankees fan. We've been busting balls over that since the day we met. So today he posts a sectional sofa for sale on Craigslist for $300, to which I responded anonymously twice.  :57:

Here's my first inquiry:
Would you take $25 for it?

I was about to offer $50 but then I noticed the Francona book lying there
and figured your standards weren't that high.

Here's my second one:
Hey mon, how is goin... Iz wondrin if this is a firm sofa. Ever since the
bambino came out me and the ol lady dont get much alone time in the sack cuz
the bambino is in ther. So Iz figurin that when its sleepin I could bang the
ol lady on this sofa if its firm.

Can Iz get a deal on it if Iz pays wit food stamps?

Something tells me if he ever responds it won't be to make a deal. :)

Detroit started auctioning the first of dozens of vacant homes this week, and buyers snatched up single family houses for about $30,000.

Suggestion Center / More Emoticons
« on: April 26, 2014, 12:27:24 PM »
This site only has 16 emoticons, while most other sites I frequent have a good 100+. I think it's time to expand the selection here.

Flea Markets / Evolution of a flea market lamp.

I suppose this applies to storage unit contents as well.

All proceeds from the auction went to help 16-year old Makenzie Wethington who was hurt during a skydiving accident and had no insurance? (Hmm, Obamacare anyone?)

I know it sounds horrible, but don't these places send out several overdue payment notices? Is anyone familiar with the storage auction legal proceedings in Oregon, that can chime in here?

The Lounge / Oh Nooooooooooooooooooooo, NOT Roy
« on: January 27, 2014, 10:58:13 AM »
I liked Roy. :(

Roy Garber, star of the hugely successful A&E reality series, “Shipping Wars” has died from a massive heart attack at the age of 49.

Garber owned and operated Arbie’s Team Transport in New Hampshire with his son Travis who he had raised by himself for over 18 years.

The A&E website fondly describes Garber as, “a serious jack-of-all-trades and a major know-it-all.”

He was an avid fisherman and experienced scuba diving who would sometimes go to the Gulf Coast searching for sharks.

A&E released this statement to Fox411 regarding the tragic news.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the A&E family.  Our thoughts are with Roy’s loved ones during this difficult time.  He will be missed.”

The Lounge / Arlington National Cemetery falling short on wreath donations
« on: December 08, 2013, 01:51:03 PM »
"It's become a moving holiday tradition to honor the nation's war dead."

"But now, donations may be falling short as thousands of graves could go without a wreath decorating their headstones ahead of the holidays in Arlington National Cemetery."

Buck up people, our fallen soldiers are being overlooked. I just did the 2 wreath donation for $30. Don't wait too long, they need to ship them from Maine to Arlington by this Saturday. Pass this story and the links on to everyone you know.

General Storage Auction Talk / Tip: The Bitcoin Hoopla
« on: December 05, 2013, 11:10:54 AM »
So, remember all of those computers we find inside storage units and thought they had no value?  :-[ Well I guess it's time to start checking the hard drives to see if they contain Bitcoins.
