eBay / Re: Anyone know anything on buyer001*? Am I screwed?

Very nervous about accepting a payment from this buyer.  No payment yet, what to do?

Let me get this straight, you're nervous over accepting a payment from a buyer with over 4300 feedbacks that are 100% positive? Shesh, there's just no pleasing some people!

I subscribe to this site. They have a lot of estate auctions. Sometimes the stuff looks like junk, but there are other times when it looks like they have some real valuables.

The deposit is paid if you win a unit. I've never had to pay a deposit just to be able to bid.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: Anyone have to deal with this?
« on: October 25, 2011, 10:33:13 AM »
It was an auction company sold the wrong unit. The unit that was sold was paid up. I assume the auctioneer tried to get said items back - probably with great difficulty. -M

A person would have to be a fool not to give the unit back, assuming the monthly payment records were produced first. If the records do show it was paid every month and that auctioning it off was truly an error, then the bid winner is not legally entitled to the contents.

you will probably make twice what you would seeing as complete  unit

Plus there won't be any hassles over the title or registration. If it does get registered then sales tax has to be paid on it based on fair market value.

Just to give an update, after one week of selling I topped $2,300. Between the cost of the unit, labor to help clean it out, shipping supplies, and shipping charges my out of pocket is just shy of $600. So right now I'm sitting on $1,700 profit this past week and I'd say I'm only about 10% sold.

The tracking service will continue to improve but is a work in progress. Sorry for your troubles.

I wasn't looking for an apology, its not needed. I very much enjoy using the USPS services. The locations are convenient, the prices reasonable, the selection of services is good, and they move stuff around 6 days a week (for now). I just wish tracking updating was a bit more real time.

One more thing, if you delete my posts and responses  in this forum  and  you  allow others  to state their  feelings, I will sue you,  trust.

OMG what a jerk. FWIW a forum is considered privately owned and the owners/admins of the site can add, keep, or delete anything they want. There is no first amendment right, or freedom of speech rights here. Take a moment and do some simple research and you'll find that many have tried and failed to do what you just threatened.

We have been transitioning to tracking on all packages and scanning is the most important thing.

I too use USPS as often as I am able. My one gripe with them is that the tracking service really sucks. It takes 24 hours just for the system to post that your package exists. Then after that, tracking is only updated once a day around midnight. All too often the package arrives before tracking even knows what's going on.

You'd probably make more money parting it out.
