Storage Auctions "In The News" / Re: Buyers Find 100K in Stolen Vitamins?
« on: December 12, 2014, 09:02:33 AM »
people "assume" things are stolen quite often it seems. I always assume people have a vitamin fetish, or thousands of bills hidden in trashbags fetish.

General Storage Auction Talk / Re: my first loss

if its furniture with pee on it its trash, but the point i'm trying to make is that we're in the trash business. I mean really we are. Don't get me wrong we're trying to find the treasure in all the trash but you have to dig. Perhaps you're in an area where the units go cheap enough to where you can be very selective which would be nice. I've had a lot of good hits but some weeks I dig through the trash(and sell it) to make a little profit. If it's working for you more power to you

dude, if threw away ANYTHING because it had a roach on it get out of the business NOW. I would sell you a burrito with a live roach IN it tomorrow if I could. You won't make money working like that.

haha, yah. My last set of ornaments auction ends sunday. all done for the season

i just put an atari 2600 on ebay with 8 games :) you go back that far or no?

39
yah i dunno. it's pretty convoluted

Well, It sounds like they are walking a fine line. They would go get that box if they really wanted but I have a feeling they are overlocked. IF they are working in conjunction with the facility to sell the unit it sounds legit(IE facility will take off their lock when 3rd party buys).

Stories about Storage Auctions / Re: What's your biggest score?
« on: December 06, 2014, 03:54:05 PM »
ive had a few really nice scores including recently i bought a 10x25 packed for $700 and made approx 6k profit after expenses.(the retail store unit). I've also hit many mini-scores including 3 for around $5k profit, 10 for about $3k and tons at $1k(don't really consider that a big score, just a good locker). I'm still looking for the big one but it'll come with time.

I do nt retuarn any personal items unless SPECIFICALLY asked by the auctioneer/manager.

i sell any games worth $30 or more on ebay. the rest go to my local auction house OR I bundle them with a gaming system. I would suggest you put a post on craigslist looking for games, frequent local auctions(not storage auctions) and go to yard sales(if you have time, can be time consuming). If you let me know what you are looking for, I find everything from atari games to xbox 1 games and ps4 games.

Storage Facilities / Re: Buying Time
« on: November 29, 2014, 08:27:51 PM »
If you are "actually" a storage auction buyer they already know who you are and they will bend over backwards to give you a little more time an keep you coming back to get them the most money. If you are just some guy that buys a few a month it depends on the owner.
