This has been a longtime comming. I imagine it's still not gonna work that great but its a step in teh right direction. Basically there's a variety of isssues where ebay may automatically remove feedback and there's other circumstances in which you can appeal to have feedback removed. Some of the things are like if someone's account isn't active anymore you can get their feedback removed, if someon has a history of leaving negative feedback, if someone is trying to use feedback as extorition, etc.

eBay / Anyone noticed your ebay final value fee percentages go down?
« on: July 17, 2013, 01:16:19 PM »
Not sure if it's just my product category or across the board but for people who have an ebay store any store level fees went from 7% to 6%. May not sound like much but overa the long run it really adds up if your doing voluje

eBay / Some people are never happy....
« on: June 04, 2013, 12:20:40 PM »
Had an ebay story to share, nothing groundbeaking but had one of those customers that makes some of us hate ebay at times.

Had a customer buy two products from me on a Friday evening. I happenned to pack up all my orders right away on Friday night. In the middle of the night he sends a bunch of messages first he's confused with what did he order, then he says he wanted a quantity of 1 but not two, then in another message he says he did order correctly, then sends a message saying he's within the 24 hours you have to cancel so he wants to change order.

Well first off I don't believe there is a 24 hour rule to cancel but I hadn't shipped items yet so I give him a call in the morning. He askes me to swap out one item for another item. At first I tell him I'll refund one item and please either rebuy or I'll invoice him through paypal to keep inventory straight and everything on record with ebay correct. He seems stupid doesn't understand I finally say fine and agree just to swap one item for another but not change anything on paper. Well after getting off the phone I realize his order had already shipped I pulled the wrong one.

Yes I did make a mistake but it was basically because of confusion caused by him making a mistake when ordering or more likely changing his mind after ordering.

I email him, very apologetic, admit I made a mistake, apologize, give him several options to remedy the situation offered to pay for shipping back and send out other product overnight for free, also offer if he wants to keep what he ordered and order another I'll give it to him at cost. basically offer him like 3 or 4 options in which I'm paying for everything and/or giving him another product at cost. He continues to email me "i dont understand how you pulled the wrong order" , "i doubt you have another customer named brian" , "i dont get how this can happen" , "im sick of excuses on ebay, I'll take this as a lesson learned"

I'm trying to bend over backwards to accomdoate him and all he wants to do is continue harping on a mistake that yes I did make, however because of him changing his mind after ordering. he's out nothing aside from maybe getting one product a day or two later.

Like I said not exatly a horror story and nothing groundbreaking but another example of someone who is just never going to be happy no matter what. Awaiting bad feedback but hoping he's too lazy to leave it.

eBay / Did ebay recently change the "best match" search algorithm?
« on: April 23, 2013, 02:35:34 PM »
Recently I noticed the best match search function seems to have really changed alot. Wondering if anyone else has noticed and if maybe they have changed the algoritym. Myself and another ebayer were pretty much dominating the top 3-4 pages of search results. Basically overnight all my items fell to being several hundred items deep under various search terms. havn't really been able to climb back up despite playing with different keywords, adding higher quality pictures, free shipping on everything, 14 day returns, etc. nothing seems to help. just curious if its just me or if anyone else noticed this as well?

also, i notice a lot of smaller sellers with cheaper items are getting top ranking where as before it was higher dollar items and bigger sellers with stores, top rated sellers, etc.

I noticed some people have been asking questions about whethr others on here have their own web stores or web presence in addition to just doing ebay and craigslist and classifieds.

I have a few ecommerce stores, am pretty knowledgeable and experienced with seo, ecommerce solutions, payment accepting options, etc. There's plenty of free ways to start such as blogger, weebly, wix, etc where you dont have to pay for hosting or even domains just to try it out and get your feet wet and then there's more expensive more professional options as well.

If anyone has any questions about ecommerce or sellign through your own online platform feel free to ask me

if anyone wants to start their own store without the full outlay of money and time for an actual brick and mortar store the swap o rama in alsip illinosi is great. near chicago and also not a far drive for those of you in northwest indiana. has a huge crowds comming in on hte weekends. in addition to the normal saturday and sunday they are also open wednesday unlike many other flea marekts. you can have a permanent booth so you dont have to take your stuff home. its cheap too only $25 for the large main area and $17 for the side hallways. if anyone wants to dabble with the idea of having a permanent shop without signing a year lease or laying out a ton on rent this is a good option for you.

Okay so I have an ecommerce store and also sell on ebay. I just had a customer contact me yesterday, very vague email said I never got my package and left a tracking number, left me no other info such as name, order number, nothing.

I wind up tracking the package and digging through past orders and manage to find his order. He ordered back on November 22, 2012, package. Tracking shows package was delivered November 23, 2012.

Order shows delivered, I know post office could have delivered to wrong house and had the guy contacted me prompty I may have even sent another package but two months later seems extreme. He is out of his paypal and ebay period to get a refund or leave feedback.

What would you do, give refund or tell him it shows delivered and he took to long to say anything? I told him not only shows delivered but why wait two months to bring this to our attention. He now is trying to say the package came back to me and I kept it. I told him tracking would show it was returned.

btw, item was about $80 to replace item would cost me about $50. WHat would you have done?

Hey guys, I've been sellingthis ebook for a while on my sites but never really done a big marketing push, just figured if they sold they sold. I recently uploaded the ebook onto the Kindle KDP marketplace and decided to put a bit of effort into marketing it...a bit late I knw as the storage auction craze is and has been on the decline for a while.

Anyhow, the book is for sale on amazon for $2.99, however if you have a Prime account it's free to you. I also run promose as often as I can giving the book away for free. If anyone is interested in being an affiliate or buying resale rights so you can sell it yourself on your stie nad keep all profits get in touch.

Just curious if anyone is planning on hitting up the black friday deals and either re-selling on ebay, your own website or maybe the flea market,

Not a bad strategy, there are some good deals, only problem being you can only be so many places at once so the really great deals your probably limited to one. My strategy has always been go for the items others aren't going to go for. For example everyone is going for the Nintendo DS, the flat screen tv, Ipad, etc. I like to go for the DVD's and other smaller ticket items like that. Great deals, there's generally no limits on how many you canget so go clean off the shelves, and easier to resell something like that on ebay.

Also, here is the K-Mart Black Friday Ad Circular Leaked, not supposed to go out until this Sunday 11/18. Looks like some good deals on flat screen tv's, tablets, laptop, etc.

I ship a ton of stuff through Fedex. A while back started using Fedex COD where you as the seller send the item and the driver picks up a Cashiers Check before handing over the package.

I had a few smooth transactions and had a buyer make a big purchase of $7,000. I sent the merchandise in two packages splitting it up half nad half and sent them out one day apart. First package Fedex driver in Georgia leaves the package on the doorstep without picking up a check at all.

The second package was already in route before I knew about the first so that's why I got screwed twice buy Fedex incompetence. second package driver picks up a personal check instead of a cashiers check. Not only a personal check but the guys address and info wans't even at the top it was temporary checks.

Put in claims with fedex. Fedex offered me $100 for each package. They claimed they didn't insure the type of item I was shippign. I told them insurnace or not they are not following their own policies regarding their COD service. This went up to the CEO, executive team, investigation dept etc. Still offered the $100 per package. This isn't criminal on the art of the customer in his state so have to go after him in small claims, also suing Fedex as well.

Just wantd to warn you guys not to use fedex cod. One othr problem I and others have had even if everything does go smooth is sometimes with cod since customers have not paid a penny they are not home or are never around to get their package. If htey dont pick up after a certain amount of time the package comes back to you and you're out $30 for cod service and you dont even sell your rpoduct.

eBay / WOW, PowerSeller Discounts Really Add Up!!!
« on: August 08, 2012, 12:15:35 PM »
I'm a powerseller and a toprated seller on ebay. I know recently we have had some discussions about whether it's worth the hassles of having to take returns, get product out in one day, etc.

Just wanted to let you guys know how big the breaks on shipping can be. On priority flat rate envelopes which I ship alot of it's not a huge savings maybe 0.50 cents, however on USPS Express FLat Rate Envelopes it used to cost me $18.95 however recently went down to $12 with my discount.

This means I can offer express overnight shipping for a lower cost and give my customers deals or I can charge normal shipping cost and make an extra $7 per order.

The discounts definately help out so I would encourage people to consider being a powerseller if your on the fence, especially if you sell volume as this adds up quickly. Every hundred orders I ship that's an extra $700 for me.

I know some of you have storage auction blogs and websites, all of you probably have ebay accounts or maybe your own online store or brick and mortar store.

I'm looking for some new content, fresh content and maybe a differnet perspective on storage auctions for FreeStorageAuctionLists.Com in the blog section.

If you'd like to do some guest blogging on the site I'd be happy to allow you to write a bio and also do a free plug for your site, ebay store, online store, hubpage or whatever it is you want to plug.

I'm pretty much open to any an all subject matters related to storage auctions, whats the resale market like, ebay tips, craigslist tips or even just funny stories and or experiences relating to storage auctions. Basically as long as its not just a press release or ad for your site and actually has some content and info I'd be happy to post it and give you a free plug. If your interested either contact me through the forum or send an email to [email protected]
