The Lounge / Re: Anyone else as sick as I am with the media?

I've stopped following mainstream media a while back. They lost all credibility, at least in my book.

New to Storage Auctions? / Re: What items to look for?
« Last post by ChristopherJames on October 24, 2017, 10:41:00 PM »
I personally think that you should play it safe the first few times that you go into an auction until you know the playing field a bit better. Don't spend money on something that you're not sure you would earn money on or you'll end up flushing money down the drain, and fast. Also, don't be too optimistic about how easy it is to sell things once you've bought them. There's a lot of work going into getting things to move that you don't see!

for A good working one I can't get more than $40-50 on CL so $5 ain't bad.

The Treasure Chest / Re: Things You Personally Collect
« Last post by TheStorageBunker on September 18, 2017, 10:34:34 PM »
Oh no!  I collect way to much stuff i find in the units:
anything video game related
anything 80s or 90s nostagia related
board games
legos
comic books
star wars
transformers
knives and swords
military stuff
odd religious items
koontz, king, and Rice books
twilight, hungergames, 50 shades books (every unit has atleast 1, i must have 15 copies of each)
pins
lunch boxes

I have 2 rooms devoted to this, one room for things i'm nostalgic for, another for the weird oddity type stuff.

they have been going for more than retail around me.  Like if i bought everything in the unit new in box at the store I'd pay less.  And all the smaller storage businesses near me recently got bought out by big corps who auction there stuff online now.

Storage Auctions "In The News" / Re: Storage Treasures Changes Hands

Why does it really matter if the company has been bought out as long as it keeps providing storage auction services to the people who are using the portal? Let's just hope that there aren't too many radical changes, especially when it come to subscription and redemption procedures. As long as not too many things change, it really should not make a difference to all the people whether some Tom, Dick or Harry is managing the company in the background.

I love reading feel good stories like this. I know that a lot of us on the channel would probably do the same too - it's simple human courtesy and compassion isn't it? Except we never would catch the attention of the media while doing it haha! Either way, I hope that I don't find the remains of anyone in any self storage unit I buy!

I agree with @alloro here. Honestly speaking, if it boils down to which site we should be using to sell our junk, I would honestly tell people to use all of them so that it maximises your potential. For us that buy into all these auctions, we're going to go into all the different sites ourselves to make sure that we pick out the best stuff too.

I think it is not really a huge issue that even deserves our attention. However, if we were to discuss on the possibilities of an impossible situation to occur, then I vouch for scenario 'B'. The most logical explanation is having a bot casting fake votes to harness excessive votes which has actually happened before in other competitions. Thus, the logic behind this method is relatively higher.
