Complete newbie here! We're looking to attend to some storage auctions primarily to buy furniture for ourselves... anyone else in the area?

If you want to see what you are buying first this is the wrong way to go. Right now its not even the cheapest way to go. Your best bet would be Craig's list. unless of coarse you want take a chance the what you can see from the door with a flashlight is all there. And everything else in the unit is something you can use.
Otherwise go to rooms to go and tell them you will clean out their storerooms and haul off all their trash for a deal on some furniture.
