A THIRD store for Brandi and Jarrod ? I don't think so !

In a recent NEW episode of SW, Jarrod says to Brandi something to the effect of looking for space for a new store location.

Since they had recently (within the last 2 months) opened their 2nd store I thought this was kind of odd until it occured to me that MAYBE, just MAYBE that episode with the new store mention MIGHT HAVE, just MIGHT HAVE been taped BEFORE their second store opened and THAT was the "new store" he was talking about. No way to really tell as the production company is taking all kinds of liberties with personalities and they way they are being presented right now.

Anyway, here's the link to the Jarrod/Brandi Facebook page which has a wide-screen shot of their new store interior at the top of the page. Makes it look wider than it actually is. I'm thinking TWO stores would be enough for them to handle.

They only have two stores.

The store they showed was huge. That had to have been 10,000 square feet. Once Storage Wars get's cancelled and the guaranteed money is gone, they might be in over their head.

True, but for all we know they're already being slammed because of the celebrity factor and don't need to do so.

They tried to make it seem that way but it ended up just being carpet samples.

From their facebook page it looks like they have the orange county location and the new store in Long Beach.

Long beach huh? One side is money and the other side is Ghetto. (Well, I say ghetto but the cheapest home you can buy there is still around $350K.)

In Cali, you can live in the ghetto and still get $350k for a house. The real estate market there is INSANE! A $350k house out there would go for $70-$90k here..

Yep, when I was doing real estate appraisal in LA/Orange County I would come across these people who were clueless to what they had. For example, this guy who recently retired had a $500,000 home and owed nothing on it. He was trying to take out a home equity loan to make ends meet. I asked him why he didn't sell the house and move somewhere with a lower cost of living. He was shocked when I told him he could buy a brand new 2500 SF home in Houston for $120K. He could sell his home, buy a brand new home and put $380K in the bank.

If money was the only consideration (and it isn't) the facts would still be true, but the other considerations have value too.

1) Leave behind children, grand-children, friends.
2) If married, wife would definitely have a say (see #1 even if man didn't care about #1)
3) Style of living different.
4) Climate different
5) See #1
6) Etc, etc, etc, see #1.

Money isn't everything that has value.

I've never had the need to look into rental rates in Cali.. But if a guy has a $500k house and is in the twilight of his life, it may make sense to sell the house and rent depending on his situation. If he has no intention or desire to leave his home to his children or whomever, he could downsize his lifestyle and rent a 2 bedroom whatever for about $1,000/mo. If he rents for 20 years, that's $240k.. Yeah he may be a little young for that option. I could just delete this post, but I'm too lazy..
