Love them or hate them, watch them or not.....they're back !
New season for the dynamic duo starts Tuesday, April 5, 2011 on Spike.
I wonder if an Atari 2600 is still selling for $250 ! ?
-
Isn't the premiere supposed to be in Miami? I'm sure they will ambiguously buy a locker full of Miami Vice memorabilia worth a fortune. What ever happened to Tubbs anyway?
-
The promo mentioned a number of cities (or states)....looks like they are going to same areas as Storage Wars.
The movie memorabilia would be a perfect example of what (I'm sure) ALL the Miami lkrs are containing. That and drug money, guns and numerous Little Rascal scooters, boxes of unused Ben Gay, and other elder products; might be a Menorah in there too.
-
Miami....
First 10 minutes looks promising for Allen and Ton....what a surprise...NASA collectibles and some kind of vehicle they got in a container for about $2K.
Will edit during next commercial break.
Wow...more commercials than content: The guys got a hovercraft and in last 10 minutes will try it out. Looks like the NASA collectibles might not be a winner.
The guys are slipping; they only made a little over $7600 profit ! ???
*****
Next half hour...they find a quad and a derringer. Gee, just like the ones I got just yesterday (in my dreams).
Yep....they did well again making around $3500 profit I think. Storage Wars is looking better all the time !
-
A rare Quad, a hovercraft & on next weeks show a mini boat....and they all are in working condition.....looks like the show's prop guys have been working overtime looking for new items to put in lockers. What's next, the original Ferrari Testarosa used in Miami Vice with Tubbs still in it? Or perhaps pirate's treasure.
-
Absolutely the show is a load of crap. Any semblance of reality just flew out the roll up door even with their disclaimer at the beginning of each show. They travel across country (in that old beat up box truck -aaa bull****) and then of the three lockers being sold, they buy two and there is hot **** in both of them. At least storeage wars is showing some reality in some less than winning lockers. All this is going to do is get the newbie lookey loos all excited about spending 500 of income tax refund and making 5000 on one locker. Total friggan crap and nothing but Hollywood bull**** called entertainment (yeah right).
-
It's not the income tax you need to worry about, it's the government checks. :o
-
Seriously who doesn't pay the storage bill for their hovercraft????? and the way it was covered with that tarp and miscellaneous boxes of junk... definite headscratcher. But hey it's entertaining and I will definitely watch every episode this season.

The more I think about the hovercraft and quad episdoe the more discouraged I am about this series. I used to like it better than Storage Wars, but now it's the other way around. Just TOO, TOO good to be true. BUT, I will continue to watch just to learn about items (even with inflated values) and to be able to complain about how unrealistic the show is. ::)

Tuesday, April 12, 2011...
The adventure continues...I mean....the setup continues.
Tonight the dynamic duo got 2 of 4 lkrs (the other two were crap). Both lkrs were true winners and
any one of us would have been happy to get 1 of them out of 50 we bought, but not these guys. Two for two and they
are double-deluxe.
This show's gotta go....I'm not sure even a NEWBIE would believe this overload.
-
Just saw a preview of the Tuesday, April 19, 2011 episode coming up.
Ft. Lauderdale, Fl is the site and apparently the guys run up against a "pro" buyer....hope that guy beats them out on a couple.
They apparently get one with gambling equipment in it....naturally, for some reason, it is worth $7K.
This show continues to disappoint, but I'll continue to watch on the off chance they start getting realistic. :P
-
Ft Lauderdale opens in a couple of minutes....will give the blow by blow (without too much detail for those who want to watch it another day).....
You know when you take out the minutes for the commericals and other show promos a 30" program only ends up being about 21" of content. Tonight we see what a Florida "pro" looks like...hope he beats the two guys on at least one lkr!
-----
We'll walk by the unit single file....don't stop and gawk! (OK, 10 seconds to size it up !)
First unit went for $250. One down 5 to go.
***********
G-Mar jumps it from $1k to $2500 ! That's a first....wonder if he'll make any dough. He gets the 2nd one too!
Lkr 3....G-Mar, you the man !
Lkr 4....G-Mar...holy cow !
Lkr 5....
Good grief...they value an army ammo box at $50. Lucky to get $10 in my area at the flea...usually more like $5 to $8.
Spear gun, wooden horse, sold big furn for some good bucks and no lifting on their part. Still they spent a lot for the lkr to beat G-Mar.
Horse value...they might have been close on this one!
Old gambling device...pretty nice !
Disco Fever...pinball machine (1978)....Looked nice...better than the one I got a few years ago which sold for $200 (didn't light up).
Rest of show dedicated to selling the booty!
-
how long before we see some of this stuff on pawn stars. already seen the breath tester there. I guess some props aren't that cheap
-
The auctioneer on the last 2 auction hunters is one I have seen at several auctions in the Atlanta Area. Legacy auctions was his company. He made us do the single file constantly walking line past the door of the unit just like they did on the show, and he very quickly started and ended his auctions. Before I really knew what was going on the unit was already sold... crazy fast. I guess you have to know your auctioneer.
-
thought I had seen that guy before. I'm in atl also. but I like the way he does auctions. He calls it the texas style line up and walk by. I you want to see it again get back in line. And like they say the last bid is the only one that counts. With the big crowds that's the only way to go.

The dynamic duo in West LA....Tuesday, April 26, 2011
Supposed to be 5 lkrs...down now to 1....and it's trash ! (some reality)
Next:
They go back to some pod-type lkrs they bought a week before.
They paid $775...probably make $3k profit if things go as usual.
*******
No lights on the old receiver...to bad !
A big blue box...what will it be...yes...a priceless treasure ! (should bring $1K at least).
(they then announced their thoughts on the item and I was right on the money (in THEIR world).
Now for some vintage shoes.....how many K can they get on these ?
******
Now the man-tools container.
$50 for an old, small shop vac? Must be gold-plated !
Lkr has a Harley item ! (why can't I get those?)
Ton finds an "OMG!" item (something short of gold bars I'm sure).
Commercial !
*******
More later in this post.
*****
Shoe expert comes in....could we import him from LA when we find a pair
One pair of 1993 Nike's....$400. Allen wants to get $4K for 23 pair of shoes....he gets.....??
You wouldn't believe me if I told you. :-\
******
Big blue box comes into another expert...remember they predicted $1k....they got....a big surprise...
the expert didn't want to pay anything like that. They go to plan B and get $1300 for the blue box.
*****
Now to yet another expert to talk Harley parts. I predict they will get $2500..stay tuned after the commerical.
*****
OK, we're back....good news and bad news.....not all Harley is worth gold...some of it is worth platinum, especially if you're Allen and Ton ! ::)
I'll let you watch the rerun to see how they make out on the Harley stuff.
Once again the boys score bigger than big-time. I guess the rest of us just don't go to the same kind of auctions.
****
My prediction of $3K profit was way off....they made over $8K...next week they get a shoeless Joe Jackson card !
-

lol, wish thats how they did it here in San Antonio. They crowd the whole damn doorway, I am a short guy compared to most people there, 5'5". At least I can say the auctioneers dont start until everyone sees. MMMM, good thing or bad thing. Guess good for me since I am so short, lol.
-
Well, at least you should be able to crowd in there and see all the good stuff close to the floor! ;D
-
Tuesday, May 3, 2011....
They do it again. A 1984 Yamaha snowmobile....under a cover; rest of locker was crap furniture. Can you say setup?
Next locker...Robby the Robot, first a repro, then the original. Oh no, Shoeless Joe Jackson stuff....these guys
have their own MINT when it comes to finding good stuff. As my old granny used to say..."take me out and bury me decent."
Hank Aaron autographed baseball!
1920 ball glove....IF Joe Jackson would be worth 15 to 20K.
I need to follow these guys and just outbid them!

Now thats a thought, mmm, they are suppose to go to Houston here soon right, guess I will head out that way :)..............The way they throw money with a SETUP unit, I should be able to outbid them. LOL

Here's a link to a thread I started about a conversation with an auctioneer who sold lockers to Allen and Ton on an upcoming (maybe June, 2011) episode of AH.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011....
The boys are in Chicago....rules for rebels....here you go ! Do you recognize their main competitor ?
Chicago Charles…a guy with 12 locks gets first 6 lkrs !
2 units left
Allen gets #7 for $500 after Charles started it at $100
#8….Allen gets it for $500 while pounding on the wall (that was Charles’ trademark)!
Ammo box….has screwdrivers; axe looks good; find more fire related items.
*****
On to lkr #2...they find some creepy stuff!
Now on to the appraisers for some values .....
As usual...they score big time...I'd like to see what Chicago Charles got !
-
For some reason, I get the feeling Chicago Charles used to be New Orleans Charles before Hurricane Katrina.
-
The boys strike it rich....what a surprise !
This episode shows John Cardoza who is an auctioneer in central California. See what he had to say about the show at this link:
http://storageauctionforums.com/index.php?topic=1141.0
Meanwhile, here's a brief rundown on the goodies. They got 2 out of 3 (as usual).
First lkr had a nice wood/glass scale (like the scales of justice)....it was on its side and they couldn't figure out what is was until they found a box with the actual scale pans. There was a gold sluicing device too.
Lkr #2....what a coincidence....they find gold, silver and another tool for finding gold.
These boys know how to stage a locker !
-
New episode, Tuesday, May 24, 2011....
The guys are in O.C. (Orange County, CA) and the previews have already shown them finding multiple guns and stuffed animals.
******
3 units and TONS of bidders (maybe 100) ....Of course the boys will get 2 of the 3 ! ;D
Lkr #1...bunch of usual stuff...they don't like it...it goes for $550.
Lkr #2....exercise equipment (they think $800)....starts at $100, jumps to $600 in nothing flat, then $1K
goes for $1.2K
Lkr #3....they HAVE TO GET THE THIRD ONE ! Totes, gun case, (don't point the flashlight!). Auctioneer makes
a move toward the gun gase....he gets it. Auctioneer says if you get the locker you can go to a gun dealer and register the rifle.
It's at $700...what will it go for ?
Goes for.....$2,200 to Allen....after he jumped it from about $1,100.
Camo hunting gear...good sign. Junk. A desk lamp made from four deer feet. Another rifle. In rough shape (1898) 16 GA shotgun.
Super heavy chest coming up after the commercial....and they spot some stuffed animal legs under a cover. :o
********
Yet another shotgun and even one more! Incredible....the setup prop men worked over time on this one!
Stuffed animals...mule deer, ram.....on the road....Check out a rerun to see what every thing sold for.
Auction Hunters is on Spike! on cable and satellite.
Edit:
Preview of next week's SEASON FINALE ! They are somewhere in the Lone Star state and the GUNS are flying all over the place...When they say "You won't believe the things we buy and sell !" They're not kidding !
-
They have got to be in Dallas right, anybody know?

Don't know for sure where the finale episode will be, but follow the link below to a good article
on the two guys as they WATCH an auction in Garland, TX which is ABOUT 150 miles from Dallas.

No, no, Movieman. Garland is only about 13 miles from Dallas. I can't wait to leave New England. I love the Dallas/Fort Worth area :)

Garland is right outside of the loop in Dallas. I just wish our Dallas website was ready to take payments, that's okay though, we have it timed perfectly for the Storage Wars Dallas premiere.

7 pm here in California, May 31, 2011....
....and the finale of Auction Hunters (in Texas) is starting....I'll give a play by play but won't reveal all...you can watch a re-run later on Spike! if you have cable or satellite.
----
225 miles north of Dallas....Sorry, TC!
A major world-wide shipping hub....auctioning off 800 containers ! Oh my !
Looking at 20 vaults at a time. 10 minutes to look at 20 units !
#19 they like.....they get it for $575.
-----
On to round #2...another 20 lkrs...how long will it take to do 800 containers?
Yikes....a Browning Citori gun box taped up !
They don't get it !
They get it at......$1,200....gotta have guns !
Now it's 2:30 pm.... the other lkrs aren't looking that good.
Now it's the end of the day.....they spent about $3K for 11 vaults.
-------
China and glass...they like it ! (rare they DON'T like their wins)
Back later with more...commercial now and I need a break from typing.
Lead crystal, vintage toy cars.
On to their best lkr....gun boxes WITH GUNS ! You've GOT to watch this episode!
Handguns, never fired !
Ton loves his job...I would too if I got THAT vault!
They get the pendulum to a grandfather clock another bidder got....care to trade ?
A great finale that made me drool for those guns....alas, I wasn't in TX...TC you should have been there!
-
I stayed up last night. Show aired at 10 PM, Tucson. I caught the last 20 minutes (15 without commercials). I saw the cars and the guns, guns, and more guns. I need to watch the rerun to see the auction part. 8)

Want to hear something funny... I actually know the guy they were calling W. The first time I ever met him was at an auction in Houston. I even said the same thing to him "you know who you look like right?" He's a pretty nice guy, not that talkative and I've never seen him buy anything. He always dressed kind of shabby so I always assumed he wasn't working with much money. I guess looks can be deceiving.
