This is according to RyanD to used to work for JohnC who is an auctioneer in central California. Ryan worked for John for 18 years before quitting in April, 2013.

In a recent one on one conversation with RyanD, Hester indicated the recent big art buy that Darrel made was the storage locker of the artist himself, that the artist was still living, that none of the art has been sold on Darrel’s website. Additionally, the store where Darrel got an appraisal was a hole-in-wall nothing of a business.

It’s a long way to $300K (or a million as Sheets is now claiming) when you haven’t sold one painting yet (as of  early May, 2013).
