I went to a storage auction recently with Dave Hester as the auctioneer. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how he did as an auctioneer. If I didn't know his history I would not have known he was a 'Former TV Star' at all. The units were not good so he didn't have much to work with. It was very evident that he has had a lot of experience with storage units and knew what to say to encourage bids. He did manage to get $400 for a unit full of trash bags and $60 for a unit with some dirty used mattresses so gotta give him credit. He knew how to spot the bidders and didn't waste time trying to squeeze out more bids if a unit wasn't going to get them. I think he is popping up all over the state to gain accounts so I wouldn't imagine he will be in my area again but if he was I wouldn't hesitate to attend his auctions.

Yeah, he's a very confident and knowledgeable guy. You either love him or hate him but either way, he knows his way around auctions.

Interesting he can use "Storage Wars" in his ad and not get in trouble with A&E.

That is surprising that he uses "Storage Wars" in his ad. In person he never mentioned the show. The only item even remotely related to the show was his Yuuup hat. I just assumed he had a gag order of some type.

That's not the official Storage Wars trademark. It's actually Storage War$. The $ makes the difference.

You say tomato, I say tomato. It's still a tomato. Even if the logo isn't right on, still, he's not standing on his own two feet, and yet he bashes the foundation he stood on.
