What did you think about Barry'd Treasure? 

I thought that there were some funny scenes, but it just reminded me of the same staged antics of Barry that we saw on Storage Wars. I withdraw my prediction that this will be the new #1 show on TV. It was mildly entertaining at best.   

I watched it and was NOT impressed in the least. Most of the show was about little side antics. I will give it one more show and then move on.

I agree...it's more of a cross between Only in America, with Larry the Cable Guy, and American Pickers.

I forgot it was on so have no opinion. Guess I will have to try to catch it in rerun. Maybe it's not worth my time with your reviews.

It was dumb!  Not sure I understand the point. So he goes to look at a guys collection, goes out and finds a buyer to bring back and the buyer and seller work out a deal. So...he's a broker now?  Pretty boring.

I didn't love it but its no worse than many other shows out there.

I've met Barry and he is genuinely like this and very little of him is scripted.  Knowing that makes it a little better for me.

2nd episode was a little better than the first. Very little meat to the show though.


I'd like to know if he is getting a commission on the items he brokers?

It doesn't have structure or really a path to follow. I like his antics which is why I'll watch a bit more.

About 2 mins of trading and getting a deal done, then random staged antics that are random. I fast forward through all of that and watch first part of show and last part of show. Takes me 3 mins to watch

I think the Barry antics are supposed to be 'the show'. The actual selling of items is just the excuse to get him out on the road.

After watching several episodes I think I can say that it's starting to grow on me a bit. I still think the actual buying is the sideshow, with Barry's antic being the meat and potatoes of the show. Things like when he got a midget skateboarder to skateboard in a headstand through an antique shop, to me that's the funny part.

At least Barry has some hilarious one liners. Besides, where else are you going to see a smoking monkey smogging out a Jetsons mobile?
