Hi,
Was wanting to know if anyone knows off hand the name brand of that ray gun style of flashlight Allen uses on Auction Hunters!
Thanks in advance!

For years I used the big 1 million candlepower lights (fairly bulky) until I started exploring Streamlight and the like.
I found a TrustFire (basically a clone) for $30 plus $10 shipping on eBay. Find it from several vendors and you will get a price like that or similar.
It is 1,000 lumens which is perhaps a better measure than candlepower.
By the way, the little led lights you see for $3 to $5 at places like Harbor Freight and such are 100 lumens. Get the difference between a $3 light and a $40 light? It's substantial.
The TrustFire is rechargeable right in the light. You rotate the shaft and it exposes the female plug for the included power supply that plugs in the wall. Holds charge for a long time.
I have owned the pistol shaped light Alan uses, and it can not compare to a TrustFire or similar light. The small black TrustFire and others that are 1,000 lumens are like the ones the CSI guys use on TV (and in real life). Police officers and other responders use similar lights.
In a dark hallway locker this lights up the back like you wouldn't believe. Put yours in there while someone is using a regular flashlight and you'll be amazed at the difference.
I am NOT a TrustFire seller.

I looked at your website. Do you actually have time to go to storage auctions?

What website was that? Thanks for the info

I use that workforce flashlight on the top. It is pretty good and the battery lifetime is ok. Way better then a Stanley flashlight i had.
My workforce last me almost thru a whole day of auctions. If there is many lockers then i have to charge it between locations. But normally it last me around 25-30 min non stop. That is almost a full day of auctions.
The only thing i don't like about it is that it feels cheep, because of the cheap plastic. But as long as it works i am game on this one.
Ohh, and i always bring 3 flashlights with me. 2 are backups. One in the car and one in my pocket, (small LED type)

It's been a year or so, but I THINK it was a Stanley. Seem to remember getting it at Sears.
When the switch was clicked once it went to the leds and a second click took it to a regular bulb. Never
could figure out what that was about. It was rechargeable and came with the home adapter.
I BELIEVE that a lot of the lights of that general kind are made in China by one or more manufacturers who
brand it with the name of the chain that buys it, Sears, Lowes, HomeDepot, etc. If Sears bought a 100K or so I'm sure the mfg wouldn't mind stamping it with Craftsman (or whatever their next line down is).
The TrustFire borrows (I think) on the SureFire name and technology.

I use a 500 LED, high intensity discharge, bazooka light which has an internal particle accelerator. I never have to recharge it. It even comes with a shoulder strap. Just Kidding...The photo is for real though.

I like it because it is bright enough, does not cost much, I can shine it quickly or for long time (helps keep other people's eyes off my light beam :) ) and I can charge it in my truck.

How about this one ?

Two thoughts on the lights:
There is the old American marketing pitch: Bigger is better
There is the furniture designer (Mies Van Der Rohe) pitch: less is more
-
This one has the advantage of a bright SureFire light and a tool to help eliminate the competition all in one package.

I see a lot of guys carrying a MagLite. One the other day was about 2' long I think. Missed getting a pic of it but here's some SureFire promo comparing theirs to MagLite.

The picture you posted of the flood light looks big enough to be a piece of furniture. Perhaps at the next movie premier, you can stand outside and shine it in the sky.

I TRIED to bring this one in to the auction, but they thought it would blow a fuse.

A fuse, no.
Cause blindness and 2nd degree burns, probably.
-
I can see the unit from mars with this.
Perhaps, but do you know how long it would take your bid to reach from there to earth ?
I think it's about 6 to 17 minutes depending on the distance at any given time.
Moon to earth .... 10 seconds or less....need to move to the moon from Mars!
The unit would be sold before your response got there from Mars !
-
Well, that's where this comes in.

That's right; I forgot we now have that 6 lane hiway to the moon!

You trying to say the Mach 5 can't fly? You must be looking for trouble. Speed, get Chim Chim ready, looks like were going to have to make an example.

Yeah, right. But give me his name so I can check him out and add him to the spam list.
-
No, it's a paid sponsor with a banner ad.
