Title: Auctioneer Makes a Killing in 2012......
Post by: MovieMan on February 15, 2013, 02:00:51 PM
......according to his contract worker.

The worker said that he (the worker) only got to sell 5 facilities this month (Feb, 2013) while his boss did 50 !

Then he went on to say that his boss had brought in a salary for himself of $475,000 while the worked offered that he (the worker) had only brought in $43,000.

This just proved to us that the boss is an even bigger a**hole than we thought. He could easily spread more of the joy to his worker who has several young children.

The worker has often told me that he only gets to do auctions that are marginal while the boss take the cream of the crop so he doesn't have to give away the commissions. The boss has one other worker associate and has gone through several others over the last few years. I wonder why !

If you're thinking of Dotson, no it wasn't him.

Some of the major auctioneers can make 7-10 grand a day. With prices are high as they are, it's a good time to be a storage auctioneer. 475K would be chump change to Dotson. He probably makes +/- 2 million a year just from auction fees.

Well maybe the boss has paid his dues. All too often I run across workers that think they're entitled to what their boss has built.

This is why I work for myself. That being said, a business owner has the right to run a business any way he or she wants. I wouldn't act like this particular auctioneer and horde all the cash for myself, because the one thing I hate at my business is a revolving door. But, he's acting within the law.
