Has anyone made a good score in workout equipment…a closed gym?
-
Exercise equipment is only good for scrap metal around here. Guess that's why our obesity rate is like 40%.

Saw a 10 by 20 locker the other day that was setup as workout room by the facility manager. Guess he was done building muscles as it sold for $600 plus. Had a lot of equipment and weights so buyer should do OK. Much more stuff than I wanted to lift !
The auctioneer sold it without mentioning that it was the manager's room. I think if he had it would have gone for less, but maybe that's why he DIDN'T mention it.

The only weights I've bought in the last year were by the piece and were used in canvas bags to weigh down my two Caravan canopies so the wind wouldn't take them away.

Ha! Me too.
Friend was a scout for the Seattle Sonics. When they remodeled he was able take anything.
Managed to get one free weight station and said f**k this! As far as I know it was still sitting in my old neighbors barn when they sold the place.

I have been watching two units that are being sold online. They're both at the same facility and they both have fitness equipment in them. Auction ends a couple weeks from now. I'm thinking about buying them, buying a 10X12 dutch barn and making a home gym. Beats paying a gym membership and throwing away $400 a year.

My buddy with the store has sold a few exercise items that he has gotten in. It's pretty much hit or miss with the stuff however. The only thing that sells well is the solid metal weights. People use them for all sorts of things...to include scrap metal.
