Title: How did you first learn about storage auctions?

Several years ago, I was oblivious to storage auctions until one day, while helping a friend of mine clear out his storage unit, the facility manager drove up on her golf cart and invited us to an upcoming auction. Showed up. 2 units for sale. Bought both of them dirt cheap. Tripled my money and was hooked ever since.

My father started in the 70's.  He made a killing and retired from his normal 9-5 and focused solely on this.  He now lives in a log cabin that was paid for totally by auction profits.  I picked it up in the 90's here and there.

When my father started he was buying 10x30's for $50 and selling them for 3000.  Multiple units like that a week.  I think he was making 20k+ a month at the heyday ... which lasted for about 10 years.

I've done ok but nowhere near where he was at ... especially since 2010 the year of the storage war
