Making some money now.

Our first three units didn't do much for us, they came up a little less than even.  The few furniture items did OK, but clothes and kitchen stuff aren't going for much if at all around here.

Then we got a unit full of tools.  It had several power tools visible and some big locked cases.  Everything we opened had more power tools in it.  Even though we paid to much for it ($675) we sold the stuff for about a thousand over about three weeks.

Yesterday we bought two units, one for $150 that will easily double or triple - sports stuff, toys, barbeque, tools.  That one we even sold stuff on site to other bidders.  The other was $575 and is basically someones whole life.  Furniture, tools, electronics, golf clubs, exercise equipment, leather jackets and we still don't know what else. 

It's nice to be making money on units despite the high prices.  Hope we can keep it up.

Those whole family units are sad, yet money makers at the same time.  I just got my whole life unit this month(see my thread in the treasures section).

I easily have about $2K in merchandise in that unit.

This "whole life" unit is working out well for us.  La Creuset pots and pans, Kitchenaid, weight bench, decent furniture, nice freezer, golf clubs, tools, leather jacket, a small safe with something inside and a couple dozen boxes we have yet to go through.

It is a little sad too though.  Among the personals there is a framed folded flag with military decorations.  I'll make sure that gets returned.

I'm excited about the safe.  Probably just papers, but who knows.  Soon it will succumb either to my picks or to power tools, then we'll know.

Do a search inside the forum here and just type in "safes" or something similar; you get some thread(s) to read which may allow you to get inside your safe and later sell it without cutting or blowing it up.

Glad you are getting some return on investment.  My one unit I thought would be a "whole life" or "family" unit turned out to be a dud.  Furniture, fridge, vac, steam cleaner, etc. and a ton of boxes in a 10x30.  Was all cloths and such as they had an apartment fire.

Keep us informed on how well you do.  It's always nice to read how others are doing for a quick pick-me-up.

Safe was just person papers of course, but it was fun to find. 

We have a ton of this La Creusette and Fiestaware stuff.  Seems absurd what people are willing to pay for the stuff, but I'll certainly be happy to take their money.

There is a set of outdoor furniture made of teak. Table, chairs and a glider type rocking chair thing.  Looks like retail new would be a couple grand so we Right get the price of the unit just from these if we find a buyer.

So one of the other things we found in this unit is a full set of china that looks unused.  It's not old, can still be bought from Lenox, but we looked it up and retail is a little over $1500.

The thing is I don't see china moving much on Craigslist, nor on ebay.  Anyone have any experience unloading fancy china?  What worked best?

This is a really great unit, about the only problem is we'll probably have to sit on the outdoor furniture until spring to get the best out of it.  Disassembled it doesn't take up too much room I guess.
