If it was this fellow it probably would be worth something, but I am under the impression he did portraits, not seascapes.

Did a quick search but didn't find anything right off. That is a cool painting however. I'd most likely of kept in and hung it on the wall with my beach/ocean paintings.

With paintings, it is best to bring it to someone who has a vast knowledge of paintings. That will be the best bet, you ay strike out, then again, you may have struck gold.

I second this, that is a cool painting. If you appraise it and its not worth a bundle, maybe we can work something out?

A lot of the times for unknown artists subject matter is what determins the value.
Look in the site called Ask Art it has a lot of artists and their works listed also some times reagional artists have a following in their area but move 200 miles and no one knows him.
