Went to my first auction

Went to my first auction

Great experience, and that's about it. Five units were available. The first was half full, with a couch, fish tank, and a bike, among other things. Went for $165.00. The next three units were empty. One had a fridge, one had a box of trash, and the last had a broken mirror and broken table. Last unit had a fridge, a few boxes, and  an entertainment center. Went for $150.00. I didn't bid. About 30 people showed up. It was very disappointing.  But regardless, it was fun. Ready for the next ones that are tomorrow. Four were canceled, 2 still left! Lets see if they hold!

With more and more people paying up on their units you can run into these dry spells.  I had such a spell few weeks back on a saturday auction.  Three facilities, 30 units in paper - down to 12 units at 2 facilities on friday afternoon, saturday saw 1 facility with 4 units.  One was trash that no one bid, 2 were ok but on empty side, and 1 decent unit.  You just never know.

Welcome to the forums.

It is fun. Keep going we are getting better at finding better auctions we may have to drive further but so far it will pay off because to much money being spent here. : ). We attended 3 before our first purchase. So hang in there it will come. : ). Have two now.. Guess that still makes us noobies HAHAHAH.

well, i went to my next auction and bought my first unit :) kind of doubly good, i got a unit full of tile for 50 bucks. got about 2 grand worth of tile. im in the middle of remodeling my house and have 2 bathrooms and a kitchen to do. and the tile i wanted for my kitchen was in the unit. and it make it even sweeter, the tile i wanted was 20 bucks a square foot and i got more then enough to do my kitchen. so, im ruling this one a score.

Yep - any time you can get stuff you need and make a profit is a good day.  Put it all up on craigslist once your finished to make your profit.
