Title: City Says Storage Unit Buyers Can't Sell From Home
Post by: Travis on March 11, 2015, 10:37:35 PM
Just came across this article about a couple that buy storage units, advertise their wares on Facebook and then allow their customers to pick up items from their home. Well, the city they live in is cracking down.

What do think about this? Has the city gone to far?

Interesting. I wonder if other cities will follow suit. I wonder how they can differentiate between people who are just selling their own belongings vs people who are actually operating as a home business?

I think most cities have laws like this to protect property value, but I guess some city officials just take their jobs too seriously.

Most cities, you can have a home business as long as you don't have regular employees, and you don't have regular business hours, ie. "By appointment only".

If you live in a city / township that is proposing no business at your residence rules, for pitty sakes, get with other like minded residents and fight it!
