Have storage auction reality shows changed the storage industry for better or worse?
-
probably neither i'd say

Definitely for the worse. The extra crowds have turned many of the property managers into real pricks, and then of course the prices for units went ridiculously high.

From a business perspective, I’d say there isn’t any impact but it does provide a guideline to storage facility owners on what the next course of action would be should their renters default on their payments. From a renter’s point of view however, perhaps they will be more watchful of their monthly payment deadlines so as not to lose their belongings through an auction.

I'm of the opinion that the storage auction TV shows have turned the industry completely upside down! We've been waiting for things to get back to the "good ole days", but I don't think it will ever be the same again. Sure , the number of people coming out to auctions has dropped back to near normal ( I remember a few years ago an auction with 350 bidders!) But other changes continue making this business more challenging then it use to be. Oh, I'm back, anybody miss me? :93:
