Title: Any Old Fogeys Here?
Post by: House of Treasures on July 08, 2014, 07:55:06 PM
Vinyl.

Picked up an old Turn Table Saturday for a few bucks. Got it home, cleaned it up and put on one of my 40 year old albums. It sounded good (the crackle of the stylist as it moved across the vinyl) it brought good memories. Cant wait to show it to my granddaughter, she is 4. The look on her face when the music starts should be priceless.

Any old time Rock and Rollers here if so who is your favorite? Mine is The Allman Brothers Band

I'm not an old fogey, but I do appreciate the likes of Clapton, Tesla, Eagles, etc.

My biggest problem with vinyl is getting rid of it. Anyone sell to record stores or collectors, and if so how much do you usually get for the average stuff? The last time I sold to a collector, I couldn't help but to feel ripped off.

"The Allman Brothers," you call that old? Come on-a my house http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mriXncI96lw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mriXncI96lw) and we'll spin some Deano, Johnny, Sammy, and Old Blue Eyes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNcfCA9UsDQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNcfCA9UsDQ).

You know, way back when the voices overpowered the instruments.
