You've just got to love technology these days.
-
I don't get it. They rescued the ducks from the water? These people must be on quack! And why did this make national news?
-
The baby ducklings were stuck down in a sewer drain and their mother could not reach them. What part of a human interest story are you failing to grasp?
-
This is like rescuing birds from a nest in a tree because they might fall.
That sewer pipe is open on both ends. They would have eventually walked/swam out.
-
Now you're just trying to piss me off with stupidity. Those pipes go on for miles and miles in many directions as they weave their way up and down streets. For animals, it's like being stuck in an underground labyrinth.
"True benevolence or compassion, extends itself through the whole of existence and sympathizes with the distress of every creature capable of sensation."
-- Joseph Addison

What? I'm being totally serious as usual. ::)
And you're right. We wouldn't want ducks to get stuck underground. Besides, we all know what happens when they finally escape that underground labyrinth.

You're hilarious! :mybosssucks:
I found a longer video from NBC news. It's not the news broadcast, just the video.

This is the local news broadcast:
