Well, at least that's what the stats area said at 7:45 pm (Pacific time) on Tuesday, 1/22/2013  !

Users on line at that time: MovieMan and Travis !

Must have been some terrorist tweaking the stats. 

It dropped to 374 just 5 minutes later.  Those "lurkers" are dropping like flies !

Now at 7:57 pm Pacific time it's down to 172 online...quite a drop from less than 15 minutes ago !

8:03 Pm Pacific time and there are 111 guests and 3 users on line....MovieMan, Travis and Alloro.

I'm going to keep tracking this as I think the number of users online is going to go to -172 !

8:14 Pacific....down to 71 users online.  At this rate it will fall below 1 online in about 10 minutes from now.

Dropped from 70 something to 53 in 5 minutes. On track to go below 1 online in next 10 minutes and right now there are 4 registered users online. It's magic.

Or maybe the forum got plugged on a popular Facebook or Twitter page. Who knows...it was cool while it lasted.

BTW, what made you look at the stats? Did you get an internal server error as well?

Nope, just looking at who was online and it showed it there, not in the actual stats area.

Leveling off at around 40 guests as of 8:30 Pacific time. Would also be cool if it went into NEGATIVE territory. 

Ok, for WHATEVER reason the guest count went from 573 to 43 during the one hour period from 7:43 to 8:43 (Pacific time). I think the servers are safe from a regular overload.

Ok, this morning at 7:45 AM (Pacific time) the online user count was at 275. At 7:48 AM it dropped to 31  which is far more representative of its TRUE nature over the 2 year period I have been a member here.

Well I assure you that the man behind the curtain has done nothing besides basic SEO to manipulate traffic.

I'm starting to see a pattern though. The recent spikes in traffic have been around the time most people check their email....right before bed and once they get to work.
