I'm you all have heard that Pope Benedict has announced his resignation. The last pope to resign was Gregory XII, who left the papacy in 1415 to end what was known as the Western Schism among several competitors for the papacy. His physical and mental health must really be deteriorating fast.

Being the Pope is supposed to be a lifetime commitment, resigning is never an option. The last Pope as well as virtually every other one stayed committed right to the end. I suspect there is corruption and covering up going on here.

I'm thinking his mental health is failing. He's 85. My grandfather is 84 and he has moderate Alzheimers. He calls me three times a day and asks me the same questions.

My wife does the same thing, but not because she has Alzheimer's. She does it to make sure I give the same answers each time! :D
