Title: Film Production Unit
Post by: stanleywhatnots on August 19, 2011, 01:24:55 PM
As I was looking at the legal notices yesterday, I saw that one of the owners of a unit going up for auction is a film production company.  I Googled them (naturally) and found that they are very small (hence not paying on their storage), but I am intrigued by what may be in there... I am having visions of all kinds of A/V equipment dancing in my head.  I'm assuming it will be too rich for my blood, but one can always dream.

I'm not even sure I'll be going to that one (couple weeks out), but if I do, I'll report back.

If it is the only thing going up for auction at the site and there are larger auctions in the area you may have a small crowd.  Specially if it's during the early morning on like a thursday.

I'd figure a unit like that could have props, spare lights, stands, those wheeled carts that a camera can sit on, etc.  You just never know.  I'd be interested in what was in there.

I know the storage unit that went up for auction that had gym stuff in it was reported to have nothing but a ton of mats and very little equipment.  So you just never know.

I saw a unit like this get auctioned off this spring. From what I could see, it had a good amount of lights and stands.  Iirc- it went between 2000-2500. No idea though if money was made or lost on it.

If its not HD a/v then is not worth the buy.

There was no visible A/V stuff in the unit.  A few things that looked like props, including fake plants, and a big tarp thrown in the back corner.  I wasn't expecting the good stuff, but it would have livened up a hot afternoon.
