Title: Most unusual sale yet!
Post by: theoddfind on January 31, 2015, 02:23:27 PM
So I awoke to a call Thursday morning by a lady who bought a vintage 1980's Alf sweatshirt, she wanted it mailed overnight to her workplace. Come to find out she is a famous costume designer worked on movies like Spiderman. The sweat shirt needed to be mailed to Saturday Night Live for a skit on Tonight. I don't know which actor but he wears a size small and its a white sweat shirt with Alf on front and it says ALF above his image and No Problem next to him just in case you are watching tonight.   ;)

Sorry if this is not in the right topic list, wasn't sure where to post this one.

The sweater was in the opening act with the host "J. K. Simmons", he even said "take off that alf sweater" to Kyle Mooney.  :93:

I take it this isn't it (you said it says ALF above his image) but apparently he has an affinity for Alf & Alf clothing.

I sold a book on Amazon last year to a famous movie director. Book actually purchased by an assistant but it was shipped directly to one of the directors residences and had their name in the shipping info. Pretty Cool  :72:

The opening act was of Richard Sherman (Jay Pharoah) and Marshawn Lynch (Kenan Thompson) doing the NFL interview. I watched and never saw the Alf shirt.

It was the opening monologue the host was yelling at the drummer and he told him to cut his hair and take off the alf sweater

Ahhh, the memories. ALF, the Dukes of Hazzard, Miami Vice, Married with Children. The good ol' days.

Apparently, as I just found out today, you're also a closet Pee Wee Herman fan.

Yeah, as a child, I used to love that show. At the time, I wasn't even old enough to understand what the scandal was about.

It's so funny to see this whole thing about Alf. I just looked for Alf on youtube and it brought back so many memories for me.

Wow that is really exciting! I have never had a personal sales encounter with a famous person before but if I ever did, I think I would probably get a restraining order for having stalked the celebrity at his ship-to address!

As a young man, I worked at Circuit city in the video department. One day Craig Biggio (Houston Astros) came in. I didn't recognize him at first but a couple of my co-workers kept pointing at him so I went over to help him. When he was checking out, I asked him for his phone number to see if he was in the system. Not there. I asked him for his last name, he replied Biggio and then it hit me. I looked at him and said Craig? He said...yeah.
