Title: 1921-1923 Buescher Saxophone

By the serial number  the sax is a 1921-1923, it is in pretty rough shape, it will need a good polish and reworked I am sure.. I am taking it to a couple music shops here in Jackson, but I dont hold much hope of getting any help from them. Anyone know a good place to take it for appraisal?  Memphis or Nashville will be ok, as I go to them a lot.

Any Suggestions will be appreciatted.

This might help you a bit.

But of course all the prices on this website are more or less for mint condition sax.

Bummer, guess its worth more as scrap metal..The Sax guy said it would make a nice lamp, stores here said it is not worth restoring.. oh well... guess I will put it on ebay and see what happens..

Here is a tip for you.

Contact some lokal clubs, typical jazz clubs or blues clubs.
Bars that have jazz nights and blues nights.

They are always looking for old rustic stuff to decorate their bars and clubs with.
That will probobly give you more back for it then listing it on ebay, where all the "cheap" buyers are.

You also might check the local antique stores.  One might buy it or consign it to sell as a decorator piece.

I posted the sax on Ebay for kicks  with a buy it now for $100... it sold within an hour.. geesh... guess someone didnt think it was worthless.....lol.

That's awesome.  I know that some people trash selling on ebay, but you've shown that it can be used to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

Yep, any sax, trumpet, clarinet I have gotten goes right on to eBay. I've never had one that hasn't sold in the first listing.  People who buy these at the flea market are taking them right to eBay if they have gotten them at a good price at the flea.

Take it to the flea....hundreds of people might see it, but how many want a sax?  Put it on ebay, anyone who sees it is acutally looking for a sax.
