Title: 3D Picture/Sculpture of The Last Supper
Post by: rulesforrebels on January 30, 2011, 12:51:24 PM
First off this is a great idea for a category in this forum. So often you come across stuff but don't really even know enough to start researching onthe  the interenet for it.

I have two thigns I really want to know the value of as well as the history, always kinda curious to know the background on certain items I find and don't have a rolodex of my own "experts" like pawn stars, storage wars, etc. lol.

I found this 3 dimensional porcelain picture/sculpture of the last supper. There's really no markings or anythign on it. I've seen some of these online for a couple hundred but seen some by this capadona or some name alogn those lines going for upwards of $6500.

Anyone know about this particular one?

Does html show up as pics on this forum?

Sorry pics are too big and having trouble resizing so putting photobucket links below...

Don't know about your sculpture, but I know it will beat out the price on a last supper pic made from dryer lint which was recently featured in an associated press story in the print media.

Looked at your pics and it looks to me like it is a resin type material like many 3D figurines I get of dragons, knights, Buddas, etc but should be a seller anyway. In California there is a huge hispanic market for anything religious including crosses made out of cholla cactus skeletons...if those go for southwestern decor or a farm worker bunker, your item will have no problem selling.

Funny you said that,my buddy was joking with me I should go to two towns near us that have big Italian and Hispanic populations he said it would sell for a pretty good amount

Every seller of goods from General Motors to Flea Market Joe does "profiling" though it has a different, more educated moniker I'm sure. Buyer assessment, etc.

But I can guarantee you this as well. If I have an item I think I can get $40 for at the flea from an upscale buyer, I won't sell it for the first $25 that is offered to me from a less well-healed type no matter what the ethnic or religious persuasion.
