So today I buy a lot of stuff from a guy early on at a yard sale. I told him that I just opened my shop around the corner, and he says "take everything on the front tables for $20! Stock your shelves!" so I did. Most stuff is decent crystal, found some unique items like a 1920's decanter turned into a lamp. Pretty cool..
As I'm digging through the totes, I find this..

Swastikas are woven into the cloth. On the opposite site, blue swastikas all the way across the top just like this side, with a small 443 patch in the corner.
I'm hoping it's related to the 1936 Olympics somehow..
Any ideas?

If it is related to those Olympics (or not) one place you won't be able to sell it is eBay. Nor will you be able to research it there. Strickly "verboten".

I did see some stamps from that era on ebay.. so apparently they allow "some" stuff..

Something struck me about your picture so I did some quick research.
Check out this pic and compare it to yours.

Notice any difference?
I had read about this years ago when I saw something about it.

After I typed in swastika on eBay, 10 pages (or more) of COINS came up, so I guess stamps and coins are OK, but actual metals or cloth emblems I think not.
Anyway, see my other post comparing yours to the picture I included.

Yeah, I noticed that it was backwards. I'm thinking it's a homemade piece and they did a Charles Manson..

Actually, the swastika you picture WAS the original if I have read material correctly. It dates back a long-time to Asian and other areas. Hitler reversed it for his purposes.

It's a symbol of peace and love. It is shunned in the west due to a lack of understanding of the Swastika's true origins and meanings.

right....because it did'nt really become known until Hitler's use and beyond that no one took the time to tell the difference from one to the other.

Yeah, I don't think it's related to Nazi Germany. It's widely used today in Indian culture as a symbol of luck and prosperity. Probably related to that. I guess it'll go in the trash..

Those are definitely not swastikas.

Those are definitely not swastikas.
Ummm...yes they are.

Those are definitely not swastikas.
The ones shown on his linen (in blue) are what was considered the original swastikas from ancient times; the ones used by Hitler are reverse swatiskas but THEY are the ones people THINK of as swastikas.

I meant the banned Nazi Germany swastikas. Shesh, do I have to spell out everything?

Whether they face forward or backwards is irrelevant, they're all Swastikas.

Edit: my original response to this was intended to go in another post; I mistakenly clicked on the respond button for this one. If you want to see the original text which was entered here you can see Travis' response below where he quoted it, unless he has removed it by the time you read this. My response didn't make any sense for the swastika issue and neither will his drum roll...though it would in the corrrect thread where I have made MY addition.

Both...AND...the virtual storage auctions out of Texas which have not been an issue at all.

Nazi swastikas bend to the right, those that bend to the left are swastikas but not Nazi swastikas.

This horse has been beated so many times it's a wonder it's not dead by now.
