Title: Geisha Statue
Post by: Zao24 on March 23, 2012, 12:19:33 PM
Noob here, I bought 2 units about a month ago.  In unit #2 I found this Geisha Statue.  I can not find any markings on it or anything to tell me who it's made by.  My instincts tell me it is old as it was found in a box with 2 Royal Doulton figures from the 1930's (sold for $75 each) and it has that "they don't make 'em like this anymore" look and feel to it.  Other than that, I am an amateur with these kinds of things (but slowly learning).

Unfortunately, 2 fingers are broken so I'm not expecting a huge return but would be interested to know more about this.  Thanks.

I did a quick look. Love Ruby Lane. Check out this link

It is not identical but the look is the same. I think it is the same maker.

Interesting, thanks for the link.  I do see some similarities and also some differences.  For example, mine doesn't say made in china anywhere.

I sure wish mine didn't have broken fingers, but looking at the design of it, it's understandable why they broke off.
