Title: Louis Vuitton Wallets
Post by: Travis on March 20, 2013, 12:10:52 AM: I found a women's Louis Vuitton wallet in a unit I bought last week. The wallet appears to be the real deal. I went to eBay to try and find a value. No luck...there were thousands of them for sale and there were hundreds of different styles. Does anyone have experience valuing these high end wallets and purses?

Post by: Travis on March 20, 2013, 08:27:36 AM: I hear you. My wife is usually low maintenance; however, she found a Coach wallet and a Michael Kors wallet in the same box as the Louis Vuitton. She kept those. What can I say? Not to sound cheap, (I'm not cheap I'm frugal) but at least I didn't have to buy it.

I bet you couldn't get that $20 out of your billfold fast enough!

I once had a Rolex which I knew was a fake. At the flea market I was selling it for $25. Two incidents happened.

After several people had looked at it over a few hour period a clean-cut guy came up and asked to look at it. When he asked "how much?" and I told him he said "thanks" and left. A few minutes later the vendor in the next booth came over and said "You know that was an undercover cop right?"

Well, I didn't know but I assumed the guy knew what he was talking about and my thought was if it was true the cop might have heard from some of the other lookers that I had a "Rolex" for sale and was checking to see what I was selling if for.

If I had been asking $400 or something higher they might have been more concerned, but asking $25? Of course it STILL would have been selling a counterfeit.

Anyway, the 2nd incident was a scruffy looking guy who tried to get me down to $20 ! My thought on that one was he wanted to resell it to someone for $100 and wanted to maximize his profit.

Fakes...more trouble than they're worth.
