Port Wine? (Oporto, Portugal)

Heyy, guys. I am kinda noobie out here.

I just want to make a question.

How much it's worth an old Vintage Port Wine, 30, 40, 60 years old (From Oporto, Portugal)?

This is an awarded wine, that's why I am wondering.

If someone could help me

Without a name and year it's impossible to say.
And even with name/year, without knowing how it was stored its not possible to say.

Some were meant to be used within so many years. Even with 100% optimum storage they just don't have the cork qaulity to keep them good. Which case you have old bottles with old vinegar, not old wine.

To me. Perfect quality, 60yr old port worth...?    Um....nothing. I hate port. 

A google search for Oenology websites is your best bet; I would pay $4.95.

I'm Portuguese. I live 15 miles from oporto and I probably can give you an aproximate value of your bottle if you tell me which is the cave that made the wine and the year of it.

If it really has 40 years should worth 350$ at least.

You know that here it will be much cheaper, because we are near, of course!!

Alias is right on this one. If wine isn't kept at the optimum temperature and lying on its side so the cork stays moist it goes bad. Once the cork dries out air can get to the contents and spoil it.

I live in wine country so I have found wine in several lockers. I open the bottle dump the wine out and recycle the glass. I'm not gonna chance a bad bottle of wine.

Thanks for the tip about wine. We mostly find MD 20/20 so.....

LOL Around here we have special cooled locker facilities just for wine storage. I haven't ever seen any of them hold an auction but I'm sure they have people go delinquent. Wine can be so tricky I'm not sure I would want to bid on a unit if they did. Might be fun to watch though.
