Okay, interesting craigslist yesterday, Meeting a guy at storage unit to sell a couch to them, He called me running late, rain delaying him because of beign on a motorcycle, meanwhile I get a email about said couch, asking if it would fit in a durango. Guy shows up buys it, hauls it off. the the motor cycle guy an hour late shows up... Thing is not the couch is GONE!!! only a couple more items to go.

When it comes to selling, it's first come first serve. You might have waited around for the guy on the motorcycle all day and he might have been a no show.

my father was a merchant all his life and always said that the first to put money in the till got the deal. Just wondering how the guy on the motorcycle was going to carry the couch, did I miss something?

Maybe he was coming to check it out and if he liked it had someone with a truck to call to come pick it up. It's much cheaper to drive around on a motorcycle meeting a dozen people and checking out what they're selling, then call the truck in once. Driving the truck around instead would make it cheaper to just go buy new in the first place. :)

Never underestimate a Craigslist buyer.

He was trailerless.. Cleared that unit totally out.. It amazes me sometimes what people will buy.

I know its a pain to get your hopes up drive far and have an item be gone so I'll normally give someone a window but if they aren't there within the second of the time we agreed on its going to the next guy. If I have a lot of demand I'll tell people I got like 3 people comming at 3, I'm not trying to turn this into a bidding war but first person who arrives with the cash is taking it so hurry up.

I will tell you - I am tempted to do a 3 at once thing.... But I wouldn't like that done to me.
Just gave away an mattress and box springs I got in a unit to a very nice couple.. Wife thought I was crazy no to pay to dump them.. they were not bad.. but the though of a storage unit matress... YUCK... but then I've never had to sleep on the floor I guess... They were thankful for them.. Saved me a dump fee and the hassle of wrapping them in plastic (new rules) so WIN-WIN!! Thanks you Craigslist!!
