Annoying Ebay Glitch
« on: May 17, 2014, 09:01:14 AM »
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Lately when creating a new listing on EBAY it sometimes initially won't let me put the price in. When I start to type the price it looks like it's working then it disappears. Or say I'm trying to type 29.99 and it drops a digit and puts 9.99 or maybe even .99. The only way I can get it to work is to move on to another area and make a change, like shipping, then go back to price and then it works fine. So annoying! This has been going on for a couple weeks.

This can happen when the page scripts run slow. Slow running scripts are generally the result of the individual computer running too many tasks at the time.

I run into this all the time, its very annoying. Sometimes it wont let me remove a buy it now price, othertimes it wont let me remove an auction price.

When I run into this the most is when I'm using a past listing to relist. Say I had a past listing for an item or even a current item and want to add an auction listings to match my buy it now listing. I'll do create a similar listing but it will never let me change to an auction. What I have to do is click continue and get taken to the next page almost as if I'm going to make a duplicate listing, then go to edit and when you go back into the listing it will then allow you to change from fixed price to auction or change prices.

You are right its super annoyigng and its almost as if its not a glitch since it screws up everytime lool and never does it correctly but what are you gonna do.

I hate the fact that the system won't let me eliminate or reduce a donation percentage, even when renewing a listing. You have to rewrite the entire listing from scratch if you want to get it off there.

My husband and I use two different computers to list on two different accounts and we both noticed the problem around the same time so I'm pretty sure it's an EBAY issue. I hadn't thought about it but I think it is mostly if not always on a relisting that I am making changes to.

Now you're confusing me. In your first post you wrote, "Lately when creating a new listing on EBAY" and now you're saying it's when relisting.

It's both for sure. Happened again yesterday. New listing but came up as a buy it now because the last listing was a buy it now. I switched it to auction style and it wouldn't let me enter a price. I think it is related to switching between BIN's and Auction style listings. Sorry to be confusing. Guess I should take notes as I go, lol.
