Average per item selling price on eBay
« on: July 10, 2012, 09:59:03 AM »
Inspired by a thread in another area (for per item price for flea market sales) I decided to look at my average price per sale data for eBay.You can find yours in your account tab, then look at sales reports. Another interesting area in the accounts tab is the seller dashboard.  Each of these areas require some exploring and clicking.

I sell mostly "bigger" items (tools, small appliances, collector items so that might account for my figures. I know some of you will list 200 plus pieces of clothing etc, but I only list about 10 per month and sometimes all will sell and sometimes only 2 or 3.

Edit:   eBay always lags a bit in their reporting. My June report when it comes up will include a $500 sale which would definitely affect the average price. I also should say that I SELL, not list about 10 per month on average. I might list 10 in the first week and end up relisting and adding new items as the month goes along, so I really probably list about 30 to 40 a month but typically never have more than about 10 on at any given time.

Thanks for pointing that out movieman. I never really looked and saw these stats avaialbe. Lately I been focusing on my online business in which we are powersellers/top rated sellers so our stuff is all fixed price and its the same items were selling so data won't really be a surprise but for my personal account where I sell random things this is very interesting and informative data.

To everyone here's a reason to keep up on ebay, look at forums, play around in your account. I'm always surprised by people who not on this forum but in general who post angry things about how htey lost money selling stuff on ebay and its like did you even take the time to look into fees and do a tiny bit of reasearch about the platform your selling on before selling.
