eBay buyer Protection!!!!!

;D I am so angry with eBay! Ok so last night I went in to my eBay to edit one of my listings. When I was done editing I clicked done... Well I got this big RED blinking notice that I could not proceed with these changes until I give eBay either my credit cRd or debit card number for purposes of protecting the buyer in case of a bad or misleading item that they purchased. In the text of the big blinking RED text it is clearly stated that eBay may take out an undisclosed amount from the card that I HAVE to give them. Then it was further stated that if I do not give them my credit or debit card information they will close my account. Oh and I can change the method of payment if I contact eBay and get their permission!!! What the heck! What person would allow a company access to there account or credit line for an undisclosed amount OC money? I sent them an email to state how angry I am with them. I will update here once I get. Response from them. My account has not been closed! All of my listings r active. I just cant edit any of my listings????

Is this even legal? I need to post some items on ebay tonight so I will let everyone know what the deal is.

Hows your feedback score though?

Ok, so after having a tiff with one of the girls in Customer Supports from eBay, I was finally able to speak to someone that could hold a conversation without taking offence to an upset customer and had more brains than a Nincompoop ::)... Jason, "The Human" that I spoke with informed me of the following, "The Buyer Protection Plan is to protect the buyer from a falsified, damaged or lack there of an item. eBay states that everyone has to give their credit or debit card to eBay for the purposes of identification and or the Buyer Protection Plan. It is stated that once the seller reaches 25 sales with an adequate number of good responses, over $300 in sales and 90 days of selling then the person can maybe change the method of payment from a debit or credit card to PayPal. But it is at the discretion of eBay. So in other words, if a buyer opens a claim against the seller...The seller will either have to cater to the buyer to make sure they r happy or it goes to the Buyer Protection Plan. At that point eBay investigates the case. If they find that the seller is at fault eBay will withdraw the funds from the debit or credit card that the seller listed.
I ended up giving my card to eBay. However, I think that once I sell the last of the items that I have on there currently I will close my account with eBay. There are plenty of other sites out there ready and willing to support my business in a less stressful environment!!!
