Title: Ebay hacked -change ur password
Post by: Alias300 on May 21, 2014, 10:57:37 AM
Ebay states:

"The company said its compromised database does not contain financial information but includes customers' names, encrypted passwords, email addresses and phone numbers. EBay is advising users to change their passwords."

I like how they wait two-ish months before saying anything.  No notice sent.  No info on ebay.....

And people think I'm paranoid because I use a mail drop and prepaid cards.

big screwup on ebays part. first off they notify us way late to change our passwords and even changing your password all your data is still out there. i imagine this will turn into a big class action with ebay having to pay for lifelock for everyone for a year or two. i hope it blows up in their face since they handled it poorly as well.

It was just Friday that I finally got a notice from ebay to change my password.
Really?  Only after it made the headlines?

No trust in ebay.

Reminder to change your password on all your financial accounts, maybe even your user name.

This morning I received notification from two banking institutions that  my account is locked due to incorrect password being entered incorrectly.  Maybe a coincidence but those two accounts had same user name as my ebay user name.  Good thing all my passwords are different but I think I'm going to start changing my user names frequently too.....
