What items have you had -thrown off- eBay....if any?
« on: March 04, 2011, 09:36:40 AM »
It's happened to me a couple of times but the only one I remember is this one:

A protective (gas) mask....used US military with bag.

I see plenty of Israeli gas masks on there, but maybe because they're new.

The brief explanation was a gov regulation .... it wasn't strictly eBay doing it.

Anyone else have items thrown off eBay?  Not incidentally, this isn't an eBay bash and those who want to bash eBay can start their own thread on that topic.

THIS topic will help other eBay users to AVOID or sidestep (perhaps) trouble listing an item.

I've sold a ton of coins on eBay. Non of them ever came for a storage unit. They all came from circulation or at a regular auction. Anyways, in the last year or so, I had to mention in the description if a coin was ungraded. If I didnt mention it was ungraded, it was pulled.

I gave up listing gun parts on ebay.  They do not pay any attention to their own rules.  I have had a trigger guard pulled and a stock.  Both items they say are allowed. I had a friend have a rifle sling pulled as an "Assault weapon" parts. I now rarely list anything on ebay even if I am sure they allow it because of the idiots they have who monitor the auctions.

Lots of military type stuff gets pulled off in my experience. I forget exactly what the rules if but I have had pins, medals, parts of uniforms, etc pulled from ebay.

Also, anytime you mention cash in for pickup listings if someone reports it your listing will be pulled. That's the main one for me.

I've had video games thorwn off Half.com before, mostly the old Nintendo NES games. If they don't come with the box they are automatically supposed to be under the "Acceptable" category, even though 98% of those games don't have the box and are mislabeled anyway. It takes them awhile to get around to throwing them off.
