Had our best (and shortest) day ever!

Had our best (and shortest) day ever!

Let me preface this with all day yesterday we had wind gusting up to  50 MPH.  It was supposed to 'blow' out by midnight, but I awoke at 3:45 listening to it howl.  We normally get up around 5:30 to hit the swap meet by 6:30.  Well, I never did fall back to sleep, called my sis at 5 and told her it was still blowing (she lives about 20 miles north of us) she said it was perfectly calm where she was.

Decided to forgo the whole thing until about 8, when I was stressing about moving the 'junk', making $$$ and generally driving everybody crazy with my fretting.  We were set up by 9:30, stayed for 3 hours and moved over $380 worth of merchandise in a whirlwind sale day!  On the way home got a call for a set of clubs we had on craigslist and our final for the day was right at $425.

So now I'm starting to think I'll forgo the setting up in the dark, while freezing my butt off.  Get in, sell quick and get out!  Of course the fact that we're one week from Christmas certainly didn't hurt and the 'new' inventory from two units won last week might have had something to do with it......but until proven otherwise.......I'm sleeping in!!

Sounds great. We spent the day still hunting. (yard sale and estate).

My fretting day was Thurs. Have to get this inventory to the thrift , have to get things sorted, have to have too have too... My husband said STOP!!!!.. LOL It stopped when we went to drop inventory off and picked up $124 from sales.  ;D

Glad you had a whirlwind sale.

Gratz Rockin - glad someone had a good day :)

I was bummed as when I called Thursday morning to get my normal spot at the flea they were already sold out.  I was like ah crap and it was going to be a very nice day just before a cold front.  Is what I get for not gambling and buying a spot 2 weeks ago when it was cold.

Been told December is a great month for new stuff, also for bikes and the like.  Jan and Feb are bad months, with March starting to pick up again.  Also have heard March is a great time to move furniture as everyone gets their refund checks back and go shopping.

Know the feeling craiglst. we keep putting off that paying for space and going too. Like having a job LOL Schedule and all. JK   Sorry you missed out. We are debating on selling over the new years weekend.  ???

What you have been told about the sell months are pretty good but now a days with the internet people start getting their refund checks in Jan. Real heavy in Feb. and trickles in in March.
If they have had only one job they can use their last pay check stub to file. Pay $9.99 and have their refund in two weeks. (Son and his wife) Oh crap telling my age.  :o

Oh and the furniture we have put in the thrift is flying out the door. Sold two sofa's in past two weeks. Went picked up another on Friday. She was out.

When I was big into flea markets I would bring my trailer and use 3 spots so I would arrive before daylight and set up.  I would be selling to other vendors and be sold out by 10 am.  I would be going home as some people were setting up and I would have $400 to $500 in my pocket on a weekly basis.
