Here's a potential money maker for you at your flea market
« on: March 08, 2013, 01:36:13 PM »
At several flea markets in my area there is a fellow who has a GOING operation and there would be no taking it away from him.

For those vendors who don't have their own tables, he rents them. They are the kind with the aluminum A-frame lets and a piece plywood (maybe 2' x 6') for the top. I think the gets $5 a table and probably gives them 4 for $15 or something. He delivers them and the vendor sets them up. He picks them up at the end of the day.

He ALSO rents canopies. He gets $10 for one or $15 for two.

What a money maker for this guy. He has a big pickup pulling maybe a 16 to 20 foot trailer FULL of canopies and table parts.  He has a vendor audience of maybe 200 possibles, but I think a fair number have their own canopies/tables.

I couldn't see renting from this guy on a regular basis if you were a committed....regular seller, but he's been doing it for years.

Sounds like a good business. For the occasional seller a good idea. Not taking up goods space with their once a year selling..

Sounds like the guy on the beach renting chairs and umbrellas.
