Title: Do you guys spring for the classified ad in the paper?
Post by: rulesforrebels on August 25, 2011, 08:05:13 AM
Just curious if you guys spring for the classified ad in the paper or just advertise your garage sale on craigslist and those list your garage sale or yard sale sites?

In years past I've just used craiglist and it has been fine a friend recently had a garage sale she didn't list in the paper and had one person show up. I'm debating whether its worth the $35 to get an ad in the paper

I use CL and post signs throughout my neighborhood including at the gas stations and grocery stores. I will be having my first garage sale from ym summer break of not doing anything here in a week. Let you know how things are doing.

In my area people use craigslist and the radio station.  Local station puts up all the yard sales on their website and advertises that section of the site for free.  They do this on all of there stations so you hit country, rock, pop, etc.  About 8 different channels.

The paper may even do it for free.  I'd have to check.

We put an add in Craigs and post same colored signs on two main roads leading them three blocks to our house , one of the streets the boston marathon runs on .
I have posted several on Craigs for friends , and they got compliments on the great directions , and had  large crowds show up and BUY .
