Title: How much traffic do you get to your yard/garage sales?
Post by: StorageAuctionFinds on October 21, 2013, 11:10:44 AM
Just curious what other people see, from my guestimate I get about 200-300 people come through my sale on a Saturday. I have also found sometimes it is not as much about what you have as about how many people you can get to come through. If 200 people spend $5 thats a grand.  8)

I used to have my garage sales in a commercial parking lot on a busy street. I put out a giant double sided garage sale sign with arrows pointing at the sale. People who weren't even looking for garage sales would see the sign and stop by. I would estimate that 800-1000 people would stop by and look. And yes, the amount of people can make all the difference. Since I had my garages sales at this commercial location every Saturday, they started to develop a following with pickers and resellers.

Yeah, location and space seem to be key as well, fortunately I am in an area of town that is considered nicer and I am starting to develop a reputation. I hear of other peole in town only getting 20-30 people come by. That would suck  :(
