Where do you look to find out about garage sales? Do you look in the paper, on the internet, wander around or something else?
It's the something else that would be interesting. Are there sources the rest of us don't know about?

I'm a Craigslist guy. I've tried the websites and seems most people that know they are there also posts on CL. But I'm not a big garage sale guy. Quick look to see if any are close (or in an area im going to be) and that's it.

I find that the best garage sales are unadvertised, they are the ones with the random garage sale sign on the street. The best way to find a lot of garage sales is first by finding out if there is a 'City Wide' garage sale event. In my town, it happens twice a year. There Is a special paper made with all the addresses and descriptions of the items available at the sale. Craigslist can sometimes be a good place to find garage sale ads, however, they aren't always local.

Too bad it doesn't list garage sales by region or state. I put in my zip code and selected 50 miles and nothing came up. I'm not going to sit there and try to guess at what zip codes have garage sales.
