Title: Cars at storage auctions.
Post by: acman on August 28, 2011, 01:28:58 PM
How much cash should you bring if you know a car is going up for auction?  Would it be impossible to win a Buick Grand Natinal for $3000 or $3500?  This is roughly half the price of a quick resale.  What is known about the car is that the owner is in Jail and wont be claiming the car before auction.

I want this car but don't want to not have enough cash.

Cars are funny, I seen a jeep wrangler sell for $350, then saw a chevy caprice sell for $2500. So it really can range depending on car and the people there that are interested in it. Best thing to do, is look up the blue book value of it. If you are purchasing it for yourself, then bring the blue book value of it. If buying it to resell or part out then bring enough cash that would be no more than 3/4 of the value.

That may get yo ua grand national if its not in mint condition.  If its low mileage and or a gnx model, forget it.  That will probably fetch 7-10k.

I think it would be hard to tell if it has low mileage since technically you cant open the door or even touch the car. Hope you got good eyes to see if it high or low mileage.

most of the dash on these were digital, except the odometer, which is pretty simple to see from the window.  Depending on how close they allow you to get to the vehicle.
