Storage Auctions

Is it just common sense to go to EVERY AUCTION you can or pick and choose?

The last year or so I've become more picky about which auctions I go to.

I don't go to some auctions no matter what (just bad facilities for one reason or another) even if it's the only auction of the day, even if its in my own town.

Do the odds of finding a good locker go up the more auctions you go to?

Well Duh! if you don't go to auctions you can't buy lockers...

So, am I to conclude from your 'duh' statement quoted above that you DO go to every auction opportunity presented to you?

As far as not going to auctions preventing one from buying lockers we are forgetting the online auctions, and then there is that other possibility for buying lockers (one gleaned from years of making contacts)....the opportunity to buy lockers directly from the site without going through an auctioneer.  It happens, and is within the purvue of the facility operator to do it in many states.

If you have the time and your time would not be better spent doing something else then sure, go to all the auctions you can.

in my humble opinion you should hit everything you can unless theres a valid reason not to .

theres only one place i avoid on purpose as its below ground level in a flood prone area and i wont make that mistake twice

ive gotten crap lockers in good areas and great lockers in crappy areas
ive gotten beautiful looking lockers that were junk and awfull looking lockers that turned out sweet

There is one facility I will try to avoid and it is because of the locations and the people that have them,  parking their shopping carts in them. I think you understand why. Not saying I wouldn't go if nothing else is available and it's a good day to get out and about, just that it would be my last choice.

My first few months of doing auctions I would hit everyone one that I could.  Then I quickly learned which ones are worth going to and which are not.  I try to hit every auction that I can.  There is one place I will never go back to.  Have a few others I will attend if can but am very reserved in bidding.  Then have a few places I would love to hit but never have the day off.

You should go to every auction you can. I try to but lazziness sometimes wins over auctions. Now another buyer I know doesn't miss any and it payed off the other month. He showed up at an auction and was the only buyer, bought 2 lockers for $1 each...Lucky Bastard
