Title: Politics and Storage Auctions
Post by: Christie on September 08, 2012, 06:12:55 PM
My day job is in foreclosures and I buy storage units on the side.  The past 3 1/2 years of having a bad economy has kept me employed; however, I am ready for the current administration to leave office.  But if they do, I wonder if I will be forced to find a new line of work (which would  not be a bad thing).  Just wondering how others feel about the upcoming elections and how it will affect the units you win at auction.

Storage units go up for auction for many reasons, a bad economy is not the only reason. Even after Romney wins, it is going to take some time to sort things out, pass new legislation, repeal old legislation, change budgets, etc. I think both of your jobs are safe for many years to come.

Its only a bad economy cause the media says its a bad economy. Me my self I have not noticed that it is a bad economy. I was working at one place and hired full time in 2009 at my old company that I left 1 year ago for even more money. And all a bad economy means is people are just wary about spending do to what they hear on the news. If I didn't hear on radio and tv that we are in a so called bad economy I would have never known.

And I hope Romney wins as well. But as it goes Bush 1 was the only president to have one term in years. So be prepared Obama will win a 2nd term but Repbilicans like myself will win in 2016.

Last I checked those were the only two real choices, so it's one or the other.

With all due respect, Utah has probably the best economy in the country right now along with a couple of other states most people in this country wouldn't expect like Wyoming & South Dakota.

Take a trip to Michigan or Mississippi and look around, then tell us the economy is only bad in the media.

There were storage auctions before the current economy and they will continue afterwards.  Only thing that changes is the potential purchasers.  As income increases, the probability of purchase of new goods increases, with a decrease of the purchase of used goods, changing what the unit value is.
