Title: Quick question
Post by: jrossjr79 on May 05, 2011, 11:15:09 PM
Currently I have been using a different house to store all my stuff. Just today me and my in-laws had it out over their dogs that I been keeping in my yard for them. Needless to say I through those dogs out. However my stuff (which is well over $1000 in inventory) is inside this house. They wont let me get my stuff out now. However to add to this, I have their car in my back yard as well. If I dont get my stuff back I am planning on seeing if I cant get the car sold and re-cooperate my lost inventory. They dont pay me for storage cost, just like I dont pay them storage cost. So legally can I do this?

Please tell me there isn't a trailer home & beer involved in this story as well. Were you'll watching Jerry Springer when this happened?

As far as the storage lien is concerned, good luck. You would have to send them notice and file all kinds of paperwork, it could take months. Just call the cops and go to their house to get your merchandise. Then tell them if they want to keep their car, they need to make arrangements to have it removed from your property. If after a week or so they still haven't removed it, you may have grounds to seek a storage lien. Hey, thanks for the post on the blog by the way.

lol, no sorry, there is no trailer home and beer involved.

Actually I had already contacted the cops, they told me there was nothing they can do, since I dont own that house. They told me the only thing I can do about my stuff is to take it to a small claims civil court.

NP, I hope you enjoyed my long post on the blog :)

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my stuff early this morning. So now just waiting to go take it to a storage unit. I will never do any kind of business with family again. Def learned my lesson. Haha, and they wanted me to partner up with them and take them out to some auctions and split a unit. Glad I said NO to begin with. Imagine the headache then.
