Yes, I know that it's been asked several times before but this time it has a twist. Answer this survey then move on to Survey Part 2.
-
Yep, it's deja vu all over again !
How many people will vote this time.
Edit:
After reading and re-reading this survey and survey2, I have figured out that the "twist" is they don't really relate to each other. The logic just isn't there as the online aspect throws a monkey wrench in the works.

Au contraire, here is what these surveys will tell me...assuming I get enough data. Do online storage auction attract buyers from farther away and if so, how much further? What is the difference between the distance a buyer is willing to travel to attend an auction and the distance a buyer is willing to drive if they win a unit online?
I think this might be important information for a storage facility who is considering having an online auction.

Ah, that seems to make sense. It makes even more sense if you "...get enough data". I suspect that's a whole ballgame of its own. Somehow I'm thinking a response rate of less than 1% isn't enough data to convince prospective site users, but maybe.

Maybe I could get a better response rate if I included something about Duck Dynasty or WWE in the question. :D

this is a subjective question travis and will depend a lot on the responders locale, I have 6 facilities under 2 miles from my house including 2 i can walk to . Someone living out in the country might have to drive 10 miles to get to a town , much less a storage facility
unless you get a overwhelming response this data is going to be flawed by to few responses from scattered locales

You're going to get the same answer too. Which is that it all depends on how many units are being auctioned off. I would drive for hours if there were say 20 or more units but I sure wouldn't do it for just one. So your survey is flawed without the number of units being factored in.
-
That's a good point. For the sake of argument, let's assume it's an average auction of say 5 units.
-
I chose 30 miles or less.. But this is because I don't own my own box truck yet, so I have to rent. Once I get my own truck, I'll open my radius to 100 miles or so.
-
The problem I have is I live in the middle of nowhere. 65 miles north is the rich people buying units. 70 miles south and a 40 dollar toll is alot of units at a lower cost. I just have no choice but to drive...

You always have a choice. In this case it's to not attend auctions and instead go become a Wal-Mart greeter! :)
