I would imagine that the gift card resale business has a higher than average fraud rate.

1. Sellers not delivering.

2. Buyers keeping cards and claiming they were never received.

Also, you have to wonder how these people are getting multiple cards in the first place. My guess: stolen merchandise returned for store credit.

I'm surprised the prices of those cards were going so high. Ooooh let me save 10 bucks on a $200 gift card.

It's like that with most big box store gift cards on eBay. But let's look at the logic. Let's say you're about to buy a $2000 riding lawn mower and you can save 5-10% by purchasing these gift cards. $100-200 off sounds pretty good to me. But you're right, it's a real hassle and you're taking a lot of risk for a small discount.

on an item so commonly used for fraud its not worth a 10% savings to get a card, ill pay full price and know what im getting. its gotta be risky as a seller as well

You think that one is bad, check out this guy. He got 49 negative just in the past month, all because he wasn't shipping fast enough

It seems to me that this guy needs an employee to help him get stuff shipped out! I've been slow with shipping especially with my last round of orders. But, I've been up front with my customers. If I can't make it in the 2 days that I promise, I just let them know. Most times they're cool with it. If they're not, I refund like 10% and that usually makes 'em happy. But with the news focused on UPS and FedEx not delivering on time, most folks are blaming the post office now.

That's crazy. Maybe he's sick or in jail or something. Still has stuff listed but I checked and most recently listed is November so he probably has stuff set to stay listed until sold. If you look at his whole year feed back he was doing fine until the past month or so then just stopped shipping anything. Maybe he's dead? I guess that teaches people to buy without taking a moment to check recent feedback. You would thing EBAY would notice sudden stream of bad feedbacks and contact the seller or freeze the account or something.

Why are people blaming the post office for UPS and FedEx having delivery problems?

They just assume that it's all the same network I guess. The post office traditionally has been slow on their delivery times in December and into January as they catch up. Just the nature of the beast I guess. But the news has been focused on UPS and FedEx being slow which I guess people associate with USPS. After all, it is all package delivery..

It's hard to blame the PO, UPS, or FedEx when you don't get a tracking number for 2-3 weeks after you order something. That kind of delay is all on the seller.

Absolutely right! But I've done several sales this month and almost all tracking numbers through USPS didn't work until after the item was delivered.

If you were dealing with anything in Texas two weeks ago there was a delay from Fed-x and UPS due to weather. Tracking numbers were slow to issue and when they did the package sat at the drop-off location for several days. I had several things shipped to me for Christmas and was worried they wouldn't get here in time. Not sure about the rest of the country though.
