Those are teh auctions I love. Sadly reported though they dont have them here in my area often. And the last time they were going on I was suppose to go, but some other RL issues came up that I had to deal with, which prevented me from going to that Auction. From what I hear from a few of the vets, is that it still not alot of people showing up, but prices do got high, since alot of high end stuff is in there. I need to find that numebr again so I can call them see when the next one is in my area.

Just got a unit like this, for a buck. Of course it looked like crap from the outside. Every one I had seen auctioned before that went for $600+.

Put it this way. PODS cost alot more money and a schedule for them to come by drop the container, you load it, usually household items, but are also known to have a stores inventory, then they come back pick the container up, sometimes move it (kinda of like a moving company). So chances are if you are paying more money, and have to schedule drop off and pick up the chances are there is higher quality stuff, and not loads of trash say if you were getting evicted. Top it off, PODS and other container auctions have not exactly hit the public masses just yet. So less competetion. :)

It varies, just like any other auction. If you already gotten your feet wet, and you got a feel on how to get rid of the inventory, then hit up a pod auction, but bring 5 - 10 grand with you. Not saying all POD Containers will be high. Some are sold off for a few hundred, then some will rake in 3 - 4 grand. And there is still profit to be gained.

BigBizz.....

Can you explain to me your use of the word "word" at the beginning of some of your posts ?

I've never seen this before and don't understand its use. Is it a regional expression? Is it something used by a generation younger than myself?

Thanks for enlightening me.  ;D

Its a younger generation type thing, kinda of like saying, "really! cool" "Badass" "awesome" and the like, think you get the picture :)

Depends on who you use (PODS, Smart Box, PackRat and so many more), what type of storage or moving you need, and size.

But to give you an idea, in my area, renting a 12 (12 x 8 x8) foot container that will be stored in their facility will run 150 per month plus an initial fee of $70 for delivery. Now you can have it stored on your property, which would be lower, or they can help you move your stuff to your new house, which would cost more. You have to schedule with them on what days they can be dropped off and what days they can be picked back up.

The pod auctions do normally bring in some major cash like everyone has said.  Only been one in my area and I didn't get to go.  You can get them to deliver the POD to a location but you got to pay of course and basicly rent the POD for it to be delivered.
